Lancaster OH is a city in Fairfield County, Ohio. Its full name is ‘Lancaster, the Thoroughbred City’. It was named this because of its rich Amish and Mennonite history as well as its breeding horses for harness racing. Lancaster OH is located about 38 miles southeast of Columbus and 74 miles west of Cleveland. It has an unrivaled downtown square which contains over 50 unique shops and businesses.

Lancaster Ohio prides itself on its wide variety of locally-owned stores and restaurants that can’t be found elsewhere. There are multiple local festivals that celebrate the arts and culture that make Lancaster such a unique place; including; Central Christian College’s ArtsFest (April), Our Daily Bread’s Food & Crafts Festival (July), and Christmas in Lancaster (November).

For fun, there is a local children’s train that tours the downtown square and surrounding areas. There is also a miniature golf course that has been open for over 27 years! To get away from it all, drive about 15 minutes to Lake Erie for some outdoor activities such as boating, fishing, or just relaxing. To get back into town, there are multiple museums, parks, and even a movie theater only 5 minutes away!

It is easy to see why Lancaster Ohio is home to more than half of the population of Fairfield County. With all it has to offer in terms of shopping, entertainment, arts & culture, food & dining, outdoor activities, events…there really isn’t anything you can’t find here!
